This Privacy Policy explains how Lucid Player ("the app", package com.lucidplayer.app) handles your information. By using the app you agree to this policy.

Summary

Lucid Player is an offline video player. It does not require an account and does not collect, upload, or sell your personal files, videos, or viewing history. Your media, playback history, favorites, and settings stay on your device. The only data leaving your device comes from our advertising provider (Google AdMob) and is used to show ads.

Information processed on your device only

• Media files & folders you choose to play, plus locally generated thumbnails. Never uploaded.
• Playback history, favorites, playlists, resume positions, and app settings, stored in a local database/preferences on your device.
• Network credentials for SMB/NAS or Wi-Fi transfer that you enter are stored encrypted on your device and used only to connect to the servers you specify.

Information collected by third parties (ads)

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and process data such as device identifiers (including advertising ID), IP address, and ad interaction data to provide and personalize ads and measure their performance. This is governed by Google's policies:

Within the European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland we present a Google-certified consent (UMP) prompt so you can accept or decline personalized ads.

Permissions

• Media access - to find and play video and audio files and load subtitles on your device. Files are not transmitted anywhere.
• Network / Internet - to stream network/SMB media you choose, run the optional Wi-Fi transfer feature, and serve ads.

Purchases

Optional premium themes are sold via Google Play Billing. Payment is processed by Google; we do not receive or store your payment details.

Children

Lucid Player is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Data retention & deletion

On-device data persists until you delete it (e.g. "Clear History") or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes all locally stored app data. To reset advertising data, use your device's ad-settings ("Reset advertising ID").
